Etiwanda
High School Music Program
The
Etiwanda High School (founded in 1983) Instrumental Music Department
has a long history of success. The Department includes two full time
instrumental music teachers, and features a music curriculum which
includes an 180 piece Marching Band, three Jazz Ensembles, two Jazz
Combos, several Chamber Groups, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert
Band, Winter Drumline, Piano Lab and a Winter Guard program.
The
Etiwanda High School Marching Eagle Regiment, a member of the Western
Band Association, has been a
finalist and semi-finalist at Bands of America National Marching Band
Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to being
distinguished as the "Bands
of America Western Regional Champion," the regiment has also performed
at
the Phoenix, Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade and National Band Championship,
as well as at the 107th Annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses
Parade.
The Wind Ensemble has
entertained President Reagan and
President Clinton and has participated in the Bands of
America National Concert Band Festival in Chicago, Illinois. All
of the concert groups consistently receive Superior ratings at Southern
California School Band and Orchestra Association festivals.
The Jazz
Ensembles have been featured at numerous events including the Reno
International Jazz Festival (Reno, NV), the Valencia Jazz Festival
(Valencia, CA Spring 2002), and the Montreaux Jazz Festival (Montreaux,
Switzerland 2004 & 2007). With their unique style and diverse
repertoire, the Jazz Ensembles have delighted audiences throughout
southern California and across Europe.

International, has performed at
the World Championship
Tall Flag Competition in Tokyo, Japan.
Jeremy Hackworth
Jeremy
Hackworth comes to Etiwanda High School from Indio, California where he
served as Director of Bands at Indio High School. There he
conducted the Pride of the Desert Marching Band, Wind Ensemble,
Symphonic Band, Winter Drumline and taught courses in Piano and Music
History & Theory. Under Mr. Hackworth's direction, the Wind
Ensemble has become well-respected throughout Southern California,
competing annually at state regionals, and receiving Superior and
Unanimous Superior ratings. The Wind Ensemble has also performed
in
venues across the United States including Washington D.C., Los Angeles,
San Diego, and San Francisco.
Prior to teaching at Indio High School, Mr. Hackworth received his
Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State
University. He studied conducting with Dr. Bruce Moss and Dr.
Emily Freeman Brown. Further, he studied trombone with Dr. Paul
Hunt and Dr. William Mathis. He was also a member of the BGSU
Philharmonic, Wind Ensemble, Trombone Choir, and the Falcon Marching
Band.
Mr. Hackworth has been involved in drum corps activities since
1994. He is a former member of the Glassmen Drum & Bugle
Corps (94-97) and the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps (98-99),
marching baritone all 6 years. He served on the visual and brass
staff with the Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps (00-01) and
volunteered with Impulse in 2002. He currently serves as a member
of the brass staff with the Boston Crusaders
Drum & Bugle Corps from Boston, Massachusetts.
